Trinosoph - Turntable Stand

Functionality that leads to a unique design

As part of the development and manufacture of an analogue record player, I discovered and researched "geometric resonance optimisation".

What already provided a unique aesthetic for the danholt Bumerang, an analogue record player, was to be taken further.

I designed a "table" or stand that was precisely tailored to this record player and aimed to achieve geometric optimisation to minimise resonance and susceptibility to interference.

Three sandwich panels, each consisting of two aluminium cover plates and a wood fibre core, are attached to a central tube in a star shape.

Their curved arches simultaneously form three feet and three arms for holding the danholt boomerang turntable.

The form follows the desired function uncompromisingly in every detail.
